(Un)ease

That girl is giggling

It sets me at (un)ease

Who said to never trust a little girl when she’s crying in the corner?

It was my brother.

It was the fire licking up the side of the building it was the smoke inhalation she was gagging she was already done in he should have left her

Who said she was giggling

Who said I wasn’t at ease?

Who said there is a woman almost thirty selling trinkets and suitcases on the internet thinking of cicadas just the sound of them and not even wishing she could leave?

thinking about running on the pavement of that hot, hellish city (Stop it! Breathe…)

(Not) thinking of so many things that she can never really fall asleep
